Raoul Hiwat discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after watching a legendary UFC fight between Royce Gracie and another fighter. Inspired by this fight, Raoul began training with Harold Harder in Drunen.

In 2003, Raoul traveled to the Rickson Gracie Academy in Los Angeles to train at the head dojo of this iconic style. Since then, he has traveled back several times a year to practice his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills and stay up-to-date.

Raoul is a 3rd degree black belt and recognized NOC*NSF trainer/coach. Since 2007 he teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he focuses on spreading the style of Rickson and Kron Gracie. Thanks to his participation in national and international tournaments he has won 1x gold and 2x bronze at the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS achieved and twice the Dutch title won.
